The South East Texas Damage Prevention Council (SETX DPC) is a member-driven non-profit association dedicated to the prevention of damage to underground facilities, public safety and environmental protection through stakeholder education and communication.

Typically comprised of construction contractors, utility operators, Call Center Staff, municipalities, utility locators, engineering firms, TXDOT, and other associated industry stakeholders; the SETX DPC meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at various locations in the Houston area.  These meetings provide an open forum where stakeholders can share information and work together on damage prevention issues.

For meeting times and locations, click on the Events/Meetings tabs or subscribe to receive monthly updates.  SETX DPC meetings are open to all stakeholders, utility operators and excavators. If you would like more information about the meetings or would like to sponsor a meeting, please contact us.

Our Mission

To facilitate underground utility damage prevention, promote Common Ground Alliance excavation best practices, and Contribute towards public safety, education, and environmental protection through communication between excavators and stakeholders.

Remember the 811 process

  • Notify your local one call center by calling 811 or making an online request 48 hours before you start your digging project.
  • Wait the required amount of time for affected utility operators to respond to your request.
  • Confirm that all affected utility operators have responded to your request and marked underground utilities.
  • Respect the marks.
  • Dig Carefully around the marks with care.
